D. Dusky Holman

Mr. D. Dusky Holman is a partner at Gildea & Schmidt, LLC where he has practiced law for six years. Dusky specializes in real estate, real estate development, corporate law, and commercial transactions and has over ten years experience in these areas of the law. He has overseen numerous development projects from the drafting of a letter of intent, to negotiation of the contract of sale, to processing the project through the development and entitlement process, to the negotiation of and obtaining of acquisition and construction financing and through to final building permits. He has participated in the development of several Planned Unit Developments, has drafted and effectuated rezoning legislation, has fought condemnation of private property, has obtained tax increment financing (TIFs), governmental grants and loans for clients, and has acted as counsel for borrowers and lenders in loan transactions. In sum, he has experience in every realm of the entitlement process.

Dusky is a graduate of McDonogh School in Baltimore and earned two BAs in History and Political Science from Duke University in 1990. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law and was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1993. Mr. Holman is a member of Baltimore and Maryland State Bar Associations; Home Builders Association of Maryland, Baltimore County Chapter; Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce and recently received an executive appointment from Baltimore County Executive James T. Smith, Jr. to serve on the Baltimore County Advisory Arbitration Panel in March, 2008.
